Corporate Services, is home to the offices outlined in the Municipalities Act – City Manager’s Office, City Solicitor’s Office and Common Clerk’s Office. Additional divisions reporting to the City Manager that provide insight and strategic guidance to Council and the organization include: Human Resources, Strategy, Continuous Improvement and Performance Reporting, Communications and Strategic Initiatives. Through specialized knowledge, the use of best practices and alignment with Council’s Priorities, Corporate Services provides the services required across the organization to ensure the City of Saint John is a service-based, results-oriented, high performance public service organization.
Corporate Services is responsible for the growth and support of two key aspects for advancing the City forward, its people and information - building organizational capacity through a skilled and engaged workforce and via sustainable information management practices. Corporate Services Acts as stewards for the organization while promoting innovative and strategic services to provide oversight and support sound decision making and policy development.
City Manager's Office
The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer of the City and has responsibility for overseeing the various City departments and divisions as they serve the needs of the citizens of the City of Saint John. These departments and divisions are organized according to the defined service delivered to the citizen.

City Solicitor's Office
The City Solicitor manages the legal affairs of the corporation of the City of Saint John, providing legal advice to Common Council and to the administration, in addition to representing the City in legal proceedings.
Common Clerk's Office
The Common Clerk is the official link between the Council and the public. The Clerk is responsible for creating, maintaining and protecting the official and permanent records of The City of Saint John. The Clerk is also the official signing officer for the city.
