Attempted Robbery at the Royal Bank, Lansdowne Ave

Saint John, NB- Police are presently investigating an Attempted Robbery at the Royal Bank located on Lansdowne Avenue. At approximately 1030am,  a lone male entered the bank and passed a note to the teller, after which he fled on foot to the area of Metcalf Street where he attempted to car jack a vehicle. He was unsuccessful and continued on foot to the area of the Howard Johnson Hotel.

The hotel was checked by officers who discovered an article of clothing matching the description of that worn by the suspect during the robbery attempt. 

Officers subsequently located a 34yr old male suspect in the hotel who they have taken into custody for this incident. The Major Crime Unit is presently investigating the incident.
