AWLE Conference co-hosted by the Saint John Police Force and the RCMP in Saint John, NB

(SAINT JOHN, NB) – The 2014 Atlantic Women in Law Enforcement (AWLE) Conference is being held in Saint John, New Brunswick, October 7th - 10th, 2014.  The New Brunswick RCMP and Saint John Police Force are co- hosting the conference with the theme “Healthy Heroes Helping Others”.   The agenda includes a number of informational sessions, awards banquet, annual general meeting and a uniform parade through uptown Saint John on Thursday, October 9th, commencing at 4:30 p.m. Keynote speaker of the conference is Chief Leanne Fitch of the Fredericton Police Force, who will present on her career as the first female Chief of Police in Atlantic Canada.
 
The annual AWLE conference has been held since 1992 as a forum where law enforcement personnel receive professional development, foster interagency networking, and during an awards banquet recognize their peers for outstanding service.    Conference topics for the event include Investigative Case Studies, Critical Incident Stress Management, Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs, Child Exploitation, and Street Survival.
