Male Charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

A 26 year old male has been arrested for Possession for the Purpose of trafficking drugs on July 23rd, 2013 by members of the Street Crime Unit.

Members of the Unit consisting of Saint John Police Force (SJPF), Rothesay Regional Police Force and the RCMP along with SJPF Uniform Patrol, conducted a vehicle stop on Wellesley Avenue in Saint John at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The subject was taken into custody following a short foot chase.   

Seized as a result of this arrest was 16.1 grams of crack cocaine with a street value estimated at over $3,200 and a quantity of Canadian cash.   

Stephen Corey Richard, 26 years old, made a Court Appearance on July 24th, 2013 at 09:30 hours and is facing charges of :Possession of Cocaine for the purposes of trafficking, Obstructing a Peace Officer and Proceeds of Crime.
