The Saint John Police Force responded to 104 calls for service.
At 1013am, yesterday morning, we responded to a call at 10 Peel Plaza, Court Building regarding a male that was ordered out of a court room yesterday by the presiding Judge.
This 16 year old male when leaving this room punch the wall and caused damage. He was taken into custody by the court security and transferred custody to the responding police members. This 16 year old has since been released to a guardian and has been given conditions which include a future youth court appearance facing criminal charges of mischief.
At 1046am, yesterday morning two males were apprehended after a brief foot chase near Prince Edward Square. These two male, both aged 15, were alleged to have shoplifted at the Prince Edward Street Liquor Store. They have both been released on conditions which include a future court date facing theft related charges. One of the males is also facing a resisting arrest charge.
At 6:22pm last evening we responded to an address off of First Street in the North end regarding a robbery.
Two males were reported to have been masked and armed with weapons. They breached their way into this location. One of the occupants at this residence received moderate injuries as a result of this altercation. He was transported to the Saint John Regional hospital where he was expected to be treated and later released.
It is believed that all of the parties in this altercation are known to one another and that this was not a random act of violence. Our Major Crime Unit was notified and is currently investigating this matter.
