The Saint John Police Force received a 911 call to a Sherbrook Street residence at approximately 840pm December 31, 2015 in relation to a stabbing.
Police entered the residence and located a male victim age 22 who had sustained a serious stab wound to the upper body. The victim was
transported to the Saint John Regional Hospital where he underwent surgery. His injuries at the time were considered life threatening and he was listed in critical condition.
Major Crime and Identification personnel were called to the scene for further investigation.
On January 1, 2016 at 1218pm, police arrested a 19yr old male at a MacLaren Blvd residence, after receiving a call that the accused wished to turn himself in to police. He was arrested without incident and charged with attempted murdered resulting from the incident on Sherbrook Street. The accused is being held in custody until Monday January 4, 2016 when
he is expected to appear in provincial court at 130pm.
The victim of this stabbing incident has passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained.
The accused will appear in provincial court Monday at 130pm, to face a charge of 2nd degree murder.
