Emergency Response
911 operator

Public Safety Communication Centre

Call 9-1-1 to report all emergencies or crimes in progress.

Dial 648-3333 to report non-emergencies to Police

The Public Safety Communication Service receives emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

When you dial 9-1-1, your call is answered by a professionally trained call taker, who will dispatch emergency service(s) – Police, Fire.

You will be asked several questions by the call taker.  Try to remain calm and be ready to provide the following information:

• Your Name
• Your Location
• Phone Number
• What happened? Is it still happening?
• Who did it? (if known)
• Did the suspect leave? Which way did they go? How did they leave? (i.e., in a vehicle, on foot)

The more relevant information you can provide to the call taker, the greater assistance responding officers will be able to offer upon their arrival, and the more likely they will be to apprehend the suspect.

Please be patient as you wait for an officer to arrive or call you back.  Calls are prioritized according to emergency status.
