Saint John Harbour Bridge
Reduced to one lane


The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wishes to advise the motoring public that the Saint John Harbour Bridge, located on Route 1 will be restricted to one lane in each direction on Saturday, May 11 and Sunday, May 12 from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m. each day.

In addition, the Chesley Drive on and off ramps and the Main Street on ramp will be closed intermittently during the same period.

These lane closures are necessary to perform roadway maintenance.

Signage will be in place.

The Department apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

The Department reminds motorists to reduce speed and drive safely.

On behalf of Gateway Operations

Gateway Operations wishes to advise the public that beginning Thursday, May 9th, 2019, northbound traffic on the Main Street Viaduct will be temporarily redirected to the southbound lanes, with traffic in both directions being divided by delineators.

As a result, the westbound on-ramp at Exit 122 will also be closed with detour signage in place to direct traffic to Route 1.

These temporary changes will remain in place for approximately 4 months and are required as maintenance work continues on the bridge deck.

Pedestrians should also note that foot traffic may also be impacted.

We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause.

East bound ramp 128 onto Ashburn Lake Road is open to access businesses up to the train tracks behind Deluxe. No thru traffic is permitted.

Lower section of Golden Grove Road near civic number 108 is closed.

Lower section of Dresden Avenue is closed.

There is currently no status change to the following locations:

Sections of McAllister Drive remain closed from Westmorland Road to Rothesay Avenue. Barricades are located in front of Michael’s.

The Glen Falls area is still flooded and many roads are impassable.

Rothesay Avenue remains closed from Rothesay Road to the One Mile Interchange.

The East bound ramp from highway 1 to Rothesay Road/Rothesay Avenue is closed.

The West bound ramp 129 (Rothesay Avenue/Rothesay Road) is closed.

Ashburn Road is closed from Rothesay Road to Foster Thurston Drive.
