PUBLIC NOTICE REVERSING FALLS BRIDGE REDUCED TO ONE LANE

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wishes to advise the
motoring public that the Reversing Falls Bridge will be reduced to one lane
commencing at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. 

This lane reduction is expected to be approximately 10 days and is necessary to carry out maintenance on the structure. 

Signage will be in place.

This is part of the ongoing work of the Department of Transportation and
Infrastructure. 

The department reminds motorists to reduce speeds and drive safely.

Description of work: Port City Water Partners will be completing chamber inspections as part of the construction phase of the City of Saint John’s Safe Clean Drinking Water Project.

Direction: Intermittent Hydro-vac work at Cold Brook Creek. Flaggers will be present.
Specific area: Intersection of John T. McMillan Avenue/Golden Grove Road
Description of work: Port City Water Partners will be doing exploratory Hydro-vac work as a phase of the City of Saint John’s Safe Clean Drinking Water Project.

Westmorland Road between McAllister Drive and Consumers Drive will reopen at 3:30 p.m.

East bound ramp 128 onto Ashburn Lake Road is open to access businesses up to the train tracks behind Deluxe. No thru traffic is permitted.

Lower section of Golden Grove Road near civic number 108 is closed.

Lower section of Dresden Avenue is closed.

There is currently no status change to the following locations:

Sections of McAllister Drive remain closed from Westmorland Road to Rothesay Avenue. Barricades are located in front of Michael’s.

The Glen Falls area is still flooded and many roads are impassable.

Rothesay Avenue remains closed from Rothesay Road to the One Mile Interchange.

The East bound ramp from highway 1 to Rothesay Road/Rothesay Avenue is closed.

The West bound ramp 129 (Rothesay Avenue/Rothesay Road) is closed.

Ashburn Road is closed from Rothesay Road to Foster Thurston Drive.

Other streets around the City have been impacted by flooding. More closures will be announced soon. Check back for updates.

Motorists should drive with caution, observe all barricades and avoid any flooded areas.

REDUCED TO ONE LANE

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wishes to advise the motoring public that the westbound lane of the Harbour Bridge will be reduced to one lane on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This lane closure is necessary to carry out maintenance on the bridge. Signage will be in place.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
