Bike Racks

Thanks in part to the generosity of the Greater Saint John Community Foundation, Saint John Transit users can bring their bikes along for the ride. A growing number of our newer buses have special bike racks on the front. With these special racks, cyclists can increase how far they travel and have an easy way to tour many parts of our beautiful city. Use of the bike rack is included with your regular fare. Non-motorized, two-wheel bikes can be loaded onto the bike racks.
Using the racks – as easy as riding a bike.

When the bus stops, let the driver know you would like to use the bike rack. Before loading your bike, allow a cyclist to unload theirs. For your safety, make sure to load your bike from the front or curb side of the bus.
Lower the rack by squeezing the handle to release the latch.
Place the wheels of your bike in the wheel wells. The first bike loaded should be placed on the holder closest to the bus.
Raise and place the support arm over your front tire to hold it in place.
When leaving the bus please indicate to the bus driver that you will be unloading your bike from the rack. Reverse the procedure above and if the rack is empty please fold it back up and lock it in place.

If the rack is full, please wait for the next bus.
