What are the Volunteer Appreciation Awards?
The City of Saint John is pleased to invite nominations for its second annual volunteer appreciation awards. The awards, to be held during Volunteer Week in April, will honour those who have made a significant effort to improve the quality of life for citizens in our community.
A joint effort of Mayor and Council, the Leisure Services Advisory Board, and the Leisure Services Department, the purpose of the ceremony will be threefold:
- To honour the contributions and achievements of sport, recreation and community volunteers of the City of Saint John.
- To promote volunteerism through increased recognition.
- To foster civic pride by honouring those who serve their community.
How can we be involved?
As a representative of a local sport, recreation or community organization, we are asking for your help to ensure these community leaders are recognized.
Nominators can be anyone within your organization who feels compelled to nominate a deserving volunteer. Please complete the application formand include a digital photograph of your nominee. The nomination criteria are included in the form. Please return the application form no later than 4:00 p.m. on March 16, 2012 to be considered.

Deadline for Applications
Nomination forms and digital photographs must be delivered to the Leisure Services Department of the City of Saint John by 4 p.m. on March 16, 2012. Late applications will not be considered. Please submit completed forms to:
