Public Safety Communication

Having a single number to make it easier and faster to reach Fire, Police or Ambulance Emergency Services improves public safety. The Public Safety Communication Service receives 9-1-1 calls for service and dispatches appropriate emergency personnel. This service involves:

• questioning callers to understand the nature of the call for service
• determining response in accordance with established standards and
guideline
• dispatch appropriate emergency personnel
• providing support to emergency personnel at the scene
