Off-Street Parking Options During Declared Snow Bans
Designated Saint John Parking Commission Lots
In order to minimize the inconvenience for residents who do not have access to off-street parking, the Saint John Parking Commission has agreed to allow overnight parking in a number of designated parking lots on occasions only when the snow ban has been declared.
- Corner of Princess and Charlotte
- King Street East
- Peters Street
- Carmarthen Street/Vineyard Church
- Mecklenburg Street at Wentworth
- Corner of Charlotte and Queen Street at Key Industries (entrance on Queen Street)

Residents are permitted to park in these lots beginning at 6:00 p.m., and must have their vehicles removed by 7:00 a.m. the following morning to allow for snow clearing operations and to allow access for our monthly parking customers. (On Saturdays and Sundays, vehicles must be removed by 12 noon.)
Any unauthorized vehicles remaining in these lots after 7:00 a.m. (Monday to Friday) or noon (Saturday and Sunday) are subject to being towed at the owner’s risk and expense.
Brunswick Square and Market Square Parking Garages
• A reduced overnight rate of $4.00 is being offered to South/Central Peninsula residents who wish to use these parking facilities during declared snow bans. This rate is valid only between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. If your vehicle is parked in one of these garages before or after the specified hours, you will be charged the regular parking rates.
No overnight parking in metered areas year round!
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours of 00:01 and 07:00 in any parking space in which either a parking meter or a pay and display machine is installed.
