Specific Area: Martha Avenue at the intersection of Cindy Lee Street, locations along Cindy Lee Street.
Description of Work: Port City Water Partners will be completing asphalt work over the next two weeks, as part of the construction phase of the City of Saint John’s Safe, Clean Drinking Water Project.

Direction: All park facilities can still be accessed, however, the Loop Road will be closed at the turnaround/gate just past the Rockwood Park stables. The one way section around the back of Rockwood Park will be closed to thru traffic. Volunteers will be on site to direct traffic. Expect delays.

SAINT JOHN HARBOUR BRIDGE
REDUCED TO ONE LANE

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure wishes to advise the motoring public of the following single lane closures scheduled for the Saint John Harbour Bridge, located on Route 1:

Monday, September 17 until approximately noon Wednesday, September 19, 2018 - The Eastbound lanes will be reduced to a single lane.

Approximately noon on Wednesday, September 19 to Friday, September 21, 2018 - The Westbound lanes will be reduced to a single lane.

Lane closures will commence at 9 a.m. and will remain in place until 4 p.m. daily.

These lane closures are necessary to perform the annual bridge inspection.

Signage will be in place.

The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.

The department reminds motorists to reduce speed and drive safely.

REPLACEMENT OF MARTINON OVERPASS (M134) ON WESTFIELD ROAD


The Department of Transportation & Infrastructure wishes to advise the motoring public that the Martinon Overpass (M134) on Westfield Road, near Henderson Road and Station Road will be fully closed starting on Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 at 9 a.m.

The duration of this closure will be approximately 3 weeks. This closure is necessary in order to replace the existing structure. Construction signage will be in place.

An alternate route will be Route 177 and Route 7.

The Department of Transportation & Infrastructure apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. The Department also reminds motorist to reduce speed and drive safely.

Motorists travelling eastbound on Rothesay Avenue to Russell Street will be detoured onto Seely Street ramp, onto Seely Street and back onto Russell Street.
Motorists travelling westbound on Rothesay Avenue to Russell Street will still be able to turn south onto Seely Street Ramp, onto Seely Street and back onto Russell Street.
Motorists travelling northbound on Russell Street will only be permitted to turn eastbound onto Rothesay Avenue.
Specific Area: Rothesay Avenue and Russell Street intersection.
Access: Businesses within the construction zone are open and will remain accessible to the public while the work is underway.
The road will also remain accessible to emergency service vehicles and local area residents.

The City of Saint John posts all traffic advisories on a single, dedicated “Traffic Advisories” page on www.saintjohn.ca.  In the event of a road closure that may cause a serious or prolonged interruption to traffic, an individual notification may also be issued.

We encourage citizens, including media and those who have previously received individual notifications through social media or email, to visit 
www.saintjohn.ca to stay informed of all City-wide traffic notifications. 

The City’s Weekly Construction Update, which includes major road and infrastructure projects as well as work being done as part of the Safe, Clean Drinking Water Project, will continue to be published on the website under “News” at the end of each week. 

Outside of construction season, traffic advisories will be issued as individual notifications.
