Inclusive Community Days Wraps Up with a Visit from the Original Man in Motion : Rick Hansen to make City Hall appearance

(Saint John) The Rick Hansen Foundation and Relay Team has confirmed that Rick Hansen will participate in activities scheduled on Day 43 of the 25th anniversary relay through Saint John, Oromocto, and Fredericton.
Rick will be greeted by His Worship, Ivan Court, and Saint John’s final medal bearer from Day 40, Jeff Sparks, who brought the medal into Saint John on Sunday at the end of day celebrations that took place at the Lily Lake Pavilion.

Rick is scheduled to arrive at City Hall at approximately 10:00 am for a thirty-minute stop, as the relay moves through the uptown en route to the city’s west side for a variety of school and community stops.  A brief ceremony will take place at the entrance to City Hall. 

The ceremony at City Hall concludes the Inclusive Community Day activities the City of Saint John held in celebration of the relay’s scheduled 4-day visit.
Motorists are advised to expect traffic interruptions as the relay moves through the city.

Rick will appear at the following stops on Day 43:
Wednesday, October 5, 2011 (Relay Day # 43: Saint John to Oromocto)
•    Community Stop: Saint John City Hall
•    School Stop: Saint Rose School and Barnhill Memorial School
•    Community Stop: Welsford Fire Department
•    End of Day Celebration: Sir Douglas Hazen Park
