City Crews Prepare for Snowfall

21-Mar-2018

With heavy snowfall expected for Thursday, City of Saint John Transportation and Environment Services will be working to keep City streets as safe as possible.

Strong winds and blowing snow may reduce visibility. Motorists are asked to drive with extreme caution and to avoid travelling during the storm if possible.

To prepare for the event of a prolonged power outage, citizens are reminded to have everything they need for at least 72 hours following a storm. This includes preparing an emergency kit for home and car. An emergency kit should include food, water, batteries, a battery-powered radio, first-aid supplies and any special items such as prescriptions, infant formula and equipment for people with disabilities. The City of Saint John EMO will monitor conditions and is prepared to respond if necessary.  For more information, visit www.getprepared.gc.ca
