City Cleans Up After Storm

Crews from the City of Saint John are performing push back and snow removal operations and clearing catch basins throughout the City.

Push back of snow on public roads and streets widens travel lanes, opens drainage courses/basins to prevent flooding and facilitates safe travel and manoeuvring for motorists.

Crews also continue to salt and clear city streets to ensure that anchor ice does not form as a result of a freeze thaw cycle. City staff are working within the Winter Management Plan to meet the established service objectives.

Residents are reminded that winter parking rules are in effect. On-street parking is not allowed in most of the city between December 1 and March 31 from midnight to 7 a.m to allow for safe and efficient plowing of city streets. Some streets are exempt. Signs on exempted streets tell citizens where parking is allowed. Obey all posted signage in your area. A full list of streets is available here.

The entire South Central Peninsula is subject to year-round alternate side parking. Follow the posted signs on these streets.
