Saint John City Market upgrades - final temporary closure of pedway

20-Jul-2016

From Thursday, July 21 until Monday, July 25, City Market entrances at the Brunswick Square pedway and Germain Street will be closed. The closure will allow for the installation of the flooring in the atrium, which is required prior to final inspection/testing of the elevating devices by Provincial authorities. This is one of the final key milestones of this highly anticipated project.

Patrons can enter the City Market from Charlotte, North and South Market streets during this time.

Directional signage will be installed and community stakeholders and market vendors have been notified of the closure.

On Monday, July 25, the Germain Street entrance and pedway access via Brunswick Square will re-open.

The Saint John City Market will remain open, as per its regular business hours, for the duration of this work. For more information, visit

We thank citizens and visitors for their patience during this time, and look forward to unveiling the newly renovated, accessible space this summer.
