During Harbour Passage closure, an alternate path on Main Street will be available

10-Jun-2011

The New Brunswick Department of Transportation is closing Harbour Passage beginning June 12 until a yet to be determined date during construction on the Saint John Harbour Bridge. The City of Saint John has suggested an alternate cycling route along Main Street, a provincially designated highway, and approval of this plan is required by the DOT before it can be implemented. City staff are actively seeking this approval.

The City of Saint John was advised this week of the closure of Harbour Passage.

The pedestrian alternative is currently being installed also along Main Street and the public will be advised next week when it will be ready, with more details provided at that time.
