The City of Saint John encourages employees and residents to recognize Earth Hour

27-Mar-2015

The City of Saint John invites all Saint John residents to turn out the lights for Earth Hour this Saturday, March 28 at 8:30pm.

As with previous years, over 680 employees at the City of Saint John have been encouraged to participate in the global Earth Hour event.

Earth Hour is an annual event designed to raise awareness of the over use of energy in modern society amid growing concerns of environmental sustainability. Every year, Earth Hour draws global attention to the large impact that a small action, such as turning our lights off for an hour, can have if millions of people participate.

There will be a guided walk around Lily and Fisher Lakes on Fisher Lakes Drive in Rockwood Park in honour of Earth Hour. The walk will be led by Trevor Fotherington and will begin outside the Lily Lake Pavilion at 8:15pm.
