Fire Hydrant Flushing

The City of Saint John is proceeding with a program of fire hydrant flushing to clean the water distribution pipes in Saint John.

Over the next few weeks flushing will be performed between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. This may affect water customers in areas north of:

Sandy Point Road

Intersection at Millidge Avenue and Somerset Street

This includes neighborhoods and subdivisions off:

Boars Head Road

Woodward Avenue

University Avenue

Kennebecasis Drive

Customers may experience turbidity (dirty or cloudy) water for up to 20 minutes if they use water during the time that the line on their street is being flushed.  Though customers may encounter a drop in water pressure, at no time should they be without water.  The water is safe to consume.
