P.R.O. Kids Manager Tammy DeSaulniers is asking Saint Johners to add a simple mouse click to their daily routine. If enough supporters do, the organization could win $75,000 in the Aviva Community Fund contest.
P.R.O. Kids is a non-profit organization that matches Greater Saint John youth with recreation activities. P.R.O. Kids has partnered with Hall & Fairweather Insurance to participate in the contest. The “1313 Smiles” program will provide assistance to 1313 children and youth by removing financial barriers for participation in sports, arts, recreation or cultural activities of their choice.
“It’s a social media contest that requires online votes,” explains DeSaulniers. “We’ve been busy clicking, sharing, facebooking and tweeting to get the word out.” The more votes the better chance P.R.O. Kids has to advance to the semi-finals and then closer to winning their goal of $75,000.
Hall & Fairweather Insurance entered P.R.O. Kids into the contest as a broker-supported idea. Voting began October 1st, with the first qualifying round concluding October 15th. Citizens can vote through the City of Saint John’s website at www.saintjohn.ca or www.avivacommunityfund.org
Through its Aviva Community Fund, Aviva Insurance is donating $1,000,000 to charities across Canada.
