This summer, we will be in eight City parks over an eight week period for a fun and active summer with Passport to Parks. From face painting, to free BBQs and healthy snacks, swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddle boards, horse-drawn wagon rides, splash parks, hiking, entertainment, playground games and more, the City of Saint John’s Passport to Parks summer lineup is sure to have something for everyone!
The program will begin on June 25 in Rockwood Park and will wrap up on August 13 at the Carleton Community Centre. All park activities are free of charge, and have been designed to showcase our local City spaces and promote wellness, community engagement, education and quality of life through recreational and cultural activities.
Parks on this year’s schedule include Rockwood Park, Station One Skate Park, Dominion Park, Rainbow Park Splash Pad, Flemming Court Splash Pad Park, Little River Reservoir, Chown Field, and the Carleton Community Centre.
The City encourages all residents to come join the fun with their family and friends, and requests the public’s help to spread the word through conversations and on social media using #p2psj. More information can be found at www.saintjohn.ca/p2psj
Community partners and sponsors are large contributors to the Passport to Parks Program, and will play a significant role in its success. Special recognition goes to the Department of Healthy and Inclusive Communities, P.R.O.
