City of Saint John crews cutting ice on Saturday

City of Saint John Municipal Operations crews will be working to remove anchor ice, which is caused by quick freezing of wet snow on the road surface, from city streets starting today. In addition to the City’s two graders, three additional pieces of equipment have been rented to aid in the operation.

Streets to be cleared include, but are not limited to:


  • Ragged Point Road
  • Marlin Drive
  • Bedell Avenue
  • Black Street
  • Side streets off University Avenue
  • Drury Cove
  • Rockwood Court
  • Hawthorne Avenue
  • Mecklenburg Street
  • Wentworth Street
  • Carmarthen Street
