Last summer, members of the 4 Engineer Support Regiment of the Canadian Armed Forces undertook a significant bridge building training exercise in Rockwood Park. They returned this spring with a focus on making additional improvements to the surrounding trail system. Their project represents an important upgrade to the Rockwood Park trail system and the overall Trans Canada Trail/NB Trail network.
The work of the Canadian Armed Forces was supported in part by the City of Saint John and the University of New Brunswick Engineering Department to ensure the infrastructure was built with the highest safety, environmental, and sustainability standards.
Today we officially opened the new bridge on the TransCanada Trail in Rockwood Park. Special thanks to the Canadian Armed Forces, City staff and UNB!
