On-street Parking Increase

(Saint John)  As of August 1, 2011, the Saint John Parking Commission’s on-street parking meter and pay & display rates will increase to $1.75 per hour. Rates at the Commission’s two metered lots on Union Street (beside the Boy Scout Shop) and St. Patrick Street will also increase.

There will be no rate change at Saint John Parking Commission’s other off-street lots.  The hourly rate will remain at $1.50 per hour to a maximum of $10 per day.

Saint John Parking Commission Chairman, Christopher Titus reminds motorists that the Commission is offering a free shuttle that services their Uptown off street parking lots. “We’ve made the shuttle available to everyone who lives, works or visits the uptown area over the summer months.” In addition, 173 parking spaces have been temporarily added to the Coast Guard site off Water Street.

The shuttle runs continuously in intervals of approximately 15 minutes, from Monday to Friday (holidays excluded) between the hours of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and will end October 7.
