Prepare for heavy rainfall

25-May-2017

Saint John Emergency Management Organization (SJEMO) is asking residents to prepare for  a slow low-pressure system moving through our region tomorrow that may produce up to 30 mm of rain and moderate winds.  This system will coincide with the highest spring tides of the year.

Mike Carr, Manager SJEMO warns that, “There may be a storm surge along our coast, water may have difficulty draining into the bay because of the higher tide levels resulting in localized flooding.”

Residents are advised to use caution at beaches and coastal areas.

Motorists are advised to use extreme caution.  Please observe all posted signage and barricades.

Saint John EMO will monitor and is prepared to respond if necessary.
