The annual P.R.O.Kids FUNdraising dinner will be a celebration of success, and a tribute to advisory committee members who have served the organization for the past 10 years.
“Without the hard work and dedication of the founders we would not have been able to provide encouraging and
life changing recreational experiences to over 5,000 local children,” said Kathy Davison, the committee’s
newly elected chair.
“In 2011 alone, 1,093 placements were made through our program. We’re striving to meet the demand for 1,200 placements in 2012. The funds raised from this dinner will help us get one step closer to meeting the needs of these deserving children.”
P.R.O. Kids is a service that matches children and youth up to the age of 18 with organized, registered recreation activities. P.R.O. Kids receives support from organizations, businesses and service providers who donate spaces in their programs, provide financial or "in kind" assistance, and/or donate supplies, equipment and transportation to and from activities or programs. Programs include art classes, sports individual and group sports, fitness memberships, music and dance lessons, and summer camps.
The dinner will be held Thursday April 26 at the Delta Brunswick Hotel. The event begins at 6pm with a reception followed by dinner—an international buffet —and an auction at 7pm. The Interaction Children’s Theatre will also give a performance.
Event sponsors are Country 94/The Wave, the Telegraph Journal, the Delta Brunswick and the City of Saint John.
