Help P.R.O. Kids pass $1 million raised in its nine years giving Greater Saint John’s children a chance to take part in sports and recreation activities.
In 2010, over 920 children and teens were given the chance to participate in the activity of their choice, thanks to the funds provided by P.R.O. Kids’ supporters, both corporate and individual. P.R.O. Kids expects the need will be even greater in 2011, with a goal of providing recreation opportunities to 1000 kids.
“One million dollars seems like a large sum of money, but just think of the return on investment,” says Danny Jardine, chair of the P.R.O. Kids committee. “We have children who have gained confidence, leadership skills, social circles and better overall health and well-being. These outcomes have a very large impact on the community that cannot be measured, but I would anticipate is much, much greater than a million dollars.”
