Reminder: Special pick up schedule for those living in flood-affected areas

08-May-2019

A special pick up schedule has been arranged for those living in flood-affected areas. The schedule is as follows:

Thursday, May 9
Tuesday, May 14
Thursday, May 16

Residents are asked to have their refuse to the curb by 7:30 a.m. on the morning of these days and sorted into four piles:

•    white goods (such as appliances);
•    bagged garbage;
•    flood debris;
•    sandbags (on pallets, if possible).

What to do with used sandbags

Due to the strong potential of contamination, sandbags must be disposed of as flood-related debris. The City has been providing wooden pallets to facilitate the collection process at the curb. Up to 50 sandbags can be placed on a pallet.

If pallets are required, please contact our customer service team at 658-4455.

City of Saint John residents are reminded that pick up for regular garbage and compost collection will remain on the regular schedule, unless otherwise communicated by the City on www.saintjohn.ca.
