Residents are reminded to stay off shorelines and beaches during storm

The Saint John Fire Department would like to remind residents of the dangers of storm surges and high waves. Rouge waves can unexpectedly sweep people off shorelines and beaches. Strong rip currents are usually created by large waves and can take surfers, swimmers, and board riders far from shore. These actions put the thrill seekers at risk, as well as first responders who often have to rescue these people under adverse conditions.
