Residents asked to avoid parks and squares until further notice

05-Jul-2014

The City of Saint John is asking residents to avoid all City parks and squares until further notice. This includes areas such as King Square, Queen Square, Victoria Square and the Burial Grounds. There are many large trees that have fallen, and continue to fall, in these areas. Once the storm subsides, the trees will continue to present hazards that crews will have to work hard to clean up.

The Queen Square Farmers Market will be cancelled Sunday (tomorrow) morning, as crews will be out cleaning the square.

To report any fallen trees on power lines, residents should call 9-1-1. Do not attempt to clear them on your own.

To report trees down on roads and sidewalks, not near power lines, or any other damage to City infrastructure, please call 658-4455.
