Saint John closes its Emergency Operations Centre after Tropical Storm Earl

 Saint John Emergency Management Organization is standing down the Emergency Operations Centre as of 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tropical Storm Earl is off the coast of Nova Scotia. Some rain fell on the city, but no flooding was noted by City crews. Saint John Police closed Saints Rest and McLaren's beaches. Police will reassess the situation at 1:30 p.m. and the beaches will be reopened at their discretion. It is expected the beaches will reopen this afternoon, but citizens are advised to stay out of the surf until the storm passes completely.

Municipal Operations' crews preparing for flooding are also standing down at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
