Saint John Merit Awards


(Saint John)– The City of Saint John celebrated the upcoming New Brunswick Day holiday with the presentation of the Saint John Merit Awards.  The Awards Ceremony took place Tuesday afternoon, July 26th, in the Saint John Common Council Chamber of City Hall.  The Awards were presented to each of the recipients by His Worship Ivan Court, Mayor of the City of Saint John.

“The annual awards provide an opportunity for the City of Saint John to honour deserving citizens and organizations who have contributed to their community in a meaningful way,” said Mayor Ivan Court.  

This year’s awards will recognize achievements in seven fields of endeavour: 1) arts and culture; 2) builders & environment; 3) civic affairs; 4) public service; 5) sports; and 6)volunteer service.  This year, a special recognition category was also added.
The winners of the seven categories for Tuesday's ceremony are:
