Saint John Parking Commission offers free Uptown shuttle

On July 11, 2011, The Saint John Parking Commission began a free daily Uptown shuttle service. The service will run Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5pm (except holidays).

“We wanted to do something to encourage residents and visitors to keep coming to our Uptown  during this busy construction season,” says Christopher Titus, Chair of the Saint John Parking Commission and member of Saint John Common Council.

“The Parking Commission has on and off street parking available just on the fringe of the Uptown core. We want to make these spaces more accessible.”

The Saint John Parking Commission has also added 50 hourly and daily parking spaces to its Coast Guard lot.

The shuttle will run continuously in intervals of approximately 15 minutes from Kings Square North down King Street along Water Street, up Duke Street, right onto Canterbury Street, down Queen Street, along Prince William Street and back to Kings Square South via King Street. Shuttle stops are marked with special signage and a sign indicating “Free Uptown Shuttle” will be displayed in the frontwindow of the bus.

The service will end October 7, 2011.
