City crews have been out clearing streets and sidewalks as quickly as possible, and in accordance with the City’s Winter Management Plan, since late yesterday evening. As snow continues to fall, operations will remain focused on pushing the snow back (plowing) to open up the roads and sidewalks. Citizens are asked to stay off the roads unless travel is necessary.
Please be advised that a temporary overnight parking ban has been declared for the North, East and West sides of the City, effective midnight this evening through to 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. This means there is no on-street parking allowed anywhere in the North, East or West parts of the City.
We thank citizens for their patience and cooperation as we work hard to keep citizens safe by clearing streets as efficiently as possible.
Citizens can do their part by:
• Keeping children away from snow banks.
• Exercising caution when driving or walking on roads and sidewalks.
• Not pushing snow from private driveways and lots onto the street, sidewalk and fire hydrants.
• Having basic supplies ready in the event of a prolonged power outage. This includes food, water, a flashlight and blankets. It is also advised to charge your phone ahead of any storm event.
