Harbour Passage is open to pedestrian traffic for the
winter, and will close again this spring when construction work resumes on the
Harbour Bridge.
In addition, ongoing work under the bridge during the winter
months may temporary close the walking trail during the day. The public will be
notified of any temporary closures.
While the walking trail will be open and safe for pedestrian
traffic during the winter months, some repairs will need to be carried out to
Harbour Passage when the bridge work is completed next fall. Work under the
bridge has resulted in some damage to overhead lights and landscaping.
Concreate USL, the contractor doing the bridge work, will do the repairs.
City of Saint John Parks and Landscape crews will maintain
the passage through the winter months, and a closure of Harbour Passage is
expected this spring when construction on the Harbour Bridge resumes. The Main
Street Bike Lane will be open when Harbour Passage is closed next year.
