A storm event is forecasted for tomorrow, Wednesday, November 23, and the City of Saint John’s Municipal Operations will be working to
keep the City streets and sidewalks free and clear of snow and ice. Snow plowing equipment will be working to keep
City streets and sidewalks safe for motorists and pedestrians.
Please keep the conditions in mind and slow down when
necessary. If possible avoid travelling the roads during the height of the
storm.
City staff will be working within the Winter Management Plan
to meet the established service objectives, once the storm ends, according to
Priority and based on the storm severity. Major arteries, highway connections
and emergency routes will be cleared constantly during the storm, with major
bus routes, and streets connecting schools, community centres and business
districts as the second priority.
The necessary equipment inspections and operations coordination
is underway and will continue until the storm event has passed. Please assist
your neighbours and the City by using your available off-street parking to
ensure the most efficient snow plowing and removal operation possible.
