The City of Saint John’s Traffic By-Law and the provincial
Motor Vehicle Act provide the legal framework for the movement of motorists,
pedestrians and cyclists through the City. But what determines the signage, the
width of sidewalks and all the other pieces that complete the driving
experience?
The Transportation Association of Canada (TAC)develops and
maintains guidelines for road and road-related transportation matters, as well
as acting as a forum for professionals to share expertise. The TAC manual
guides decisions around road signage, on-street parking, speed limits and
traffic calming in the City of Saint John, just to name a few.
