Sandy Point Road reopening this evening, Union Street by Saturday afternoon

Fri November 18, 2011

Repairs to Sandy Point Road are expected to be complete by 6 p.m. this evening. City of Saint John crews are on site paving and preparing to remove the detour after last week’s storm. Only a base layer of asphalt will be installed today. Crews will return to complete the paving next week, if the asphalt plants are open.

Contractors are finishing the final work on Union Street this evening and tomorrow. The street will be open by afternoon to allow for traffic related to the Santa Claus Parade to use Union Street.
