Water usage restriction lifted for West Saint John

Fri August 12, 2011

Saint John Water has now lifted the water usage restriction affecting the City west of the Reversing Falls Bridge after last weeks electrical fire at the Musquash pumping station.

Damage from the electrical fire on August 1 affected the two pumps’ starters in the electrical room. The electricity was shut off to allow for some repairs to be made. Electricity was restored to the pumping station on August 7, and Pump 2 was activated on August 8. Water levels in Menzies Lake, which is used to hold water for Spruce Lake, is increasing with the pump functioning at full capacity.
