There are many organizations and associations in Saint John dedicated to community support, mutual interest or community development. Some key groups and social service agencies are listed below.
Social Service Agencies
- Province of New Brunswick
Divisions include, for example, birth certificates, marriage licenses, child protection services, Public Health, family and community social services, Human Resources Development and provincial employment programs, etc.
- Government of Canada Services
Including, Human Resources Development(HRD-C), national employment programs, etc.
- Human Development Council
The Saint John Human Development Council promotes and co-ordinates social development in Greater Saint John by involving citizens, agencies, government, and the private sector. Maintains an online database of community social services available at www.humandevelopmentcouncil.nb.ca. Operates a Community Information and Referral Service.
- Immigrant and Refugee Services
Through the Canadian Red Cross Society.
