What is the Central Peninsula Plan?

The Plan contains a set of policies and actions that will to guide growth and improve the Uptown, South End, and Waterloo Village neighbourhoods and key corridors such as Union Street and Crown Street over the next 30 years.

What is the status of the Plan? Has it been completed?

On October 7th, 2019 Council opened a 30 day period to receive feedback on the draft plan. An electronic copy of the plan can be found here, or a physical copy can be obtained at the One Stop Development Shop (10th floor of City Hall) or Common Clerks Office (8th Floor of City Hall). 

The comment period will close on November 6th, 2019. Citizens, business owners or anyone interested in providing feedback on the plan should submit their comments to the Common Clerk by email at commonclerk@saintjohn.ca or by mail to:

At their November 18th, 2019 meeting, Common Council will refer the plan to the Planning Advisory Committee for review and set a date for the public hearing (tentatively scheduled for November 26th and December 9th, 2019). Both meetings will be open to the public to attend and speak with respect to the Plan.
