Armed Robbery of Taxi Driver

The Saint John Police Force is presently investigating a report of an armed robbery of a taxi driver that occurred on today’s date at 817am in the area of Douglas Street, located in the city’s north end. The lone male suspect was picked up in the area of Lansdowne Plaza, shortly after which he produced a weapon, demanding money from the driver.

The suspect is described as:

  • being in his early twenties,
  • clean shaven,
  • approximately 5’10”, 145-175lbs,
  • average build,
  • wearing a red/orange colored hoodie.

The suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen in the area of Clarendon Street. The taxi operator was not injured as a result of this incident.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Saint John Police Force Major Crime Unit.
