Saint John, NB - The Saint John Police Force would like to remind the public of on-going frauds that occur regularly where people receive a phone call from a person calling on behalf of the Canada Revenue Agency. There are often similar types of these scams throughout the year. PLEASE do not disclose personal information over the telephone.

The Saint John Police Force has been receiving numerous calls from the public on a daily basis informing staff that they received a call of this nature. This has inundated our resources working in our communications center. We would encourage the public to contact the police ONLY if you have disclosed your personal information and require a report to be generated.

A friendly reminder to the public that the Canada Revenue Agency DOES NOT solicit for back taxes or monies owed over the telephone. The CRA will NOT call; you will receive correspondence from the Canada Revenue Agency via the mail.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Canada Revenue Agency.
