Man Facing Attempted Murder Charge

Court appearances are expected today - Tuesday, November 19, 2019 - in relation to a serious crime investigation.

At approximately 04:30 am on Sunday, November 17, 2019, police responded to a call for service that involved a shooting outside a private residence on Duke Street West. 1 man remains at the Regional Hospital.

Resulting from this investigation, shortly before 3:00 pm on Monday, November 18, officers on detail witnessed gunfire between the occupants of two vehicles.  Shortly after, 2 men and 1 woman were taken into custody.

The furtherance of the investigation resulted in a barricaded suspect at a residence on Anglin Drive.  In the interest of public safety, institutions in the immediate area were placed on lock-down and residents were displaced from their homes.  Through negotiations, a 36-year old man was taken into custody just before 10:00 pm.

A residence on Parks Street Extension was also the scene of a tactical operation as part of this investigation.

Shortly before 11:00 pm on the City’s west side, police took into custody a 35-year old man in relation to the shooting on November 17 on Duke Street West.

No word on specific charges at this time.
