SJPF Investigating Serious Assault

The Saint John Police Force Major Crime Unit is actively investigating an assault upon a 22 year old Saint John man.

At 0449 hrs on September 27th, Saint John Police Force responded to the Saint John Regional Hospital to find a male who was seriously assaulted.  The 22 year old male remains in serious condition at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

The assault did not occur at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

This incident is not believed to be a random act of violence.

The Saint John Police Force is seeking any information that any member of the public may have, in relation to this assault.

UPDATE - 29 Sept 2014

The 22 year old victim is in stable condition in hospital but is expected to make a full recovery.

A 30 year old Saint John man was arrested in relation to this incident and is expected to appear in Provincial Court at a later date.

The Saint John Police Force Major Crime Unit continues to investigate.
