Smoking Cannabis In Public Is Prohibited

Wed September 2, 2020

A reminder from the Saint John Police Force that smoking cannabis in public is not permitted. Over the past few weeks, officers with the SJPF have been called to several public areas where someone or a group of people, have been smoking cannabis.

Under the law, the only legal place to consume cannabis in New Brunswick is in a private dwelling or in the land adjacent to the private dwelling (in your home or in your backyard.)
