Wright Street Incident Results in Arrest

A 37 year old woman is in custody following an incident on Wright Street on Wednesday, May-13-2020.

SJPF were searching a residence just after 5:30pm for a woman, wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant.  

Officers located and confronted the woman and one officer was sprayed with an irritant. The woman then barricaded herself in a bedroom with weapons.

The Critical Incident Team including ETS (Emergency Tactical Squad) negotiated with the woman for several hours. After many attempts to have the woman come out of the apartment, officers then entered the bedroom and took her into custody.

The officer who was sprayed with the irritant, suffered minor injuries and is resting at home.

A 37-year old woman was arrested on the parole warrant and is facing additional charges including assault of a peace officer and being unlawfully at large.
