Certain tickets issued under the Motor Vehicle Act can be voided if the recipient takes the requested steps to correct the violation. These are referred to as Compliance Tickets and may be issued for the following reasons: failure to show proof of insurance, failure to display front and back license plates, tinted windows, and mechanical defaults.
Compliance tickets are to be returned to the Traffic Sergeant, along with proof of compliance (e.g., showing that tint has been removed from windows). The Traffic Sergeant will accept the original ticket(s) and verify that compliance has been satisfied.
Compliance tickets are dealt with one day per week.
Compliance will only be accepted on Wednesday mornings, between 1000 - 1130 hrs (10:00 am - 11:30 am), and no later than one week prior to the stated payment date. If period for compliance has expired, individuals will be required to deal with the violation either through Court or Service New Brunswick.
